Evidenced based treatment is divided into 3 parts:
I complete regular clinical supervision and professional development in order to give my clients a quality service.
Depression, anxiety, anger, stress
We all experience these emotions, and they are, in fact, very normal, and an important part of being human. A lot of the time, we are actually good at managing these. Sometimes though, they can start to take a hold of us. This can lead to:
• Relationship problems
• Withdrawing from friends
• Problems at work
• Decreased energy
• Feelings of worthlessness
• Avoiding activities that make life better
• Identity problems
Phobias
There are many different types of phobias, a lot of which I can help with. Common fears include:
- Fear of flying
- Being in enclosed spaces
- Spiders
- Insects
Trauma Recovery and Post-Traumatic Growth
People can experience different types of trauma. Each of us deals with traumatic experiences in different ways. Examples of common trauma symptoms that can lead to difficulties in our personal and professional lives include:
- Disrupted sleep patterns
- General feelings of anxiousness
- Self-blame
- “Zoning out”
- Withdrawing from friends and family
- Feeling like you are wearing a mask, or that you, or the world is not real.
Sports and work performance
Whether it is an upcoming presentation, or an exam, a little bit of anxiety can help us perform. But too much anxiety can impact our performance. I can work with you on understanding what you are doing that is working, and what we can tweak, and what skills could be useful in helping you reach your potential.
Problem/Criminal behavior
Offending behavior has lots of consequences for the individual and the victims. I understand the de-stabilisation of family units, the guilt and shame that can result. I have experience in working with a range of problem behaviors including:
- Violence
- Drug use and distribution
- Fraud
- Burglary
- Adult and Child sexual offences
